Action Impact develops new pathways to resources and advancement for collaborators and artists inclusive of race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability and gender. The opportunities created are intentionally made to have lasting impact on personal and community growth.
This fellowship invites artists who identify first as an actor, singer or dancer to expand the capacity and confidence of their skills towards a working relationship with theater as a creative performing artist. The fellow will discover what a creative performing artist means to them, through practice, connection and conversation with The BringAbout. Such opportunities include: pre pro discussions with writers preparing to get their work on its feet for the first time; singing, speaking and moving a piece to life for the first time; post development discussions with a focus on next steps; as well as opportunities to collaborate with The BringAbout’s media production team, education team, social media & journalism team.
This fellowship invites musical theatre writers and composers into the process of collaboration between writing and choreography to understand how dance works as a narrative tool in the writing process. The fellow will develop a vocabulary and understanding of the possibilities between a writer and choreographer relationship by joining multiple BringAbout writers in the process of getting their work on its feet for the first time with The BringAbout. These are unique, vulnerable experiences where everyone in the room, including the fellow, is learning and growing together through collaboration.
